The HI 84102 is a microprocessor-based meter for measuring total titratable acidity. Acids occur naturally in the fermentation process, and are frequently monitored in winemaking to ensure proper levels.
The meter includes both a pH and temperature probe, and temperature compensation is automatic. It uses an acid-base titration method, and a built-in algorithm analyzes the shape of the pH electrode response to determine reaction completion. Calibration is one point for selected end-point (7.00 or 8.20 pH).
Range is 0.0 to 25.0 g/L of tartaric acid + or – 5% of reading, with resolution 0.1 g/L. Sample volume must be 2 mL. Power source is 110V/60 Hz; 10VA. Dimensions are 208 x 214 x 163 mm (8.2 x 8.4 x 6.4”) (with beaker), with weight 2200 g (77.6 oz.).
Hanna Instruments manufactures a wide variety of analytical instrumentation, including pH meters, multi-parameter meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. Founded in 1978, Hanna is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, with subsidiaries in 32 countries. Hanna Instruments holds many firsts in the field of analytical instrumentation, including a pH electrode with a built-in temperature sensor, an electronic pocket-sized pH tester, and a replaceable electrode pH pocket tester. To ensure the quality of its products, Hanna is a vertically integrated manufacturer and does not subcontract any part of its manufacturing.
